What interests me the most is how many of these people I’ve never heard of before. Twitter is a bigger, wider world than I realized. We all are so conscious of our own network of friends that it easy to forget that there are millions of other networks existing simultaneously that we have no knowledge of (obviously). It’s like a million flavors of Twitter only we all have a cone & an ice cream scoop.

opefully the most popular people are the ones delivering the most value and humor, but those things vary depending on the audience. Some people like Dave Taylor, Coach Deb and Guy Kawasaki are obvious choices because they provide information that drives interesting and helpful Twitter conversations.

I follow 42 tweeters for my business account. I get about 160 to 220 tweets per day. No way for me to read them all. A few are on this list. If I follow another 42 that would be around 400 tweets per day. Meaning 80% to 90% of the tweets will not get seen or read. This means correlating that the tweeters above will be sending out tweets and 80% to 90% of their followers will not see or read their tweets! So is twitter a powerful medium?
