Congratulations to the Top 50 Tweeples to Follow 2009!

Before you scroll down to read the list, a few things you should know:

  • This is the second year of the Top 50 Tweeples contest. You can view 2008 recipients, here.
  • There was a public nomination process which took place August 9 through August 18. You had to be nominated by someone along with your area of expertise.
  • This is an organic “contest” and an organic list. Meaning: people who were nominated and those who voted found out about it through their Twitter community.
  • Voting is left up to word-of-mouth (or tweet rather) and depends solely upon one’s reach.
  • This is meant to be my network’s recommendations to help others find new people to interact with.
  • Recipients are listed in order of the number of votes received.
  • If you’re wondering why you didn’t know about it, make sure to watch my Twitter feed in August 2010.

    Like the other commenters have mentioned, Sarah, what’s cool about this list is that it’s diverse – no set industry, no set amount of followers; just normal users that enjoy Twitter.

    And the great thing is it’s unofficial – you don’t have to check out anyone here, or you can check them all out. Or make your own list! :)
