MidMichigan Health is combining cancer fundraising with restaurants on a local basis through their recent “Bon Appetit for Hope” campaign: http://www.midmichigan.org/bonapetit. In addition to the restaurants donating a portion of thursday evening proceeds during the month of October, the health system is supporting the effort through social media posts and photographs from the restaurants on their Facebook and Twitter pages. http://www.facebook.com/midmichigan.

Sarah – I’ve always been a fan. And the work you did (as mentioned in the above vid) for Beat Cancer was fabulous. But what about using coupons on Facebook to drive customers into restaurants? What about tweeting deals during snow storms to let customers know that a deal is on? What about Foursquare customer loyalty awards for attaining mayorships or upon checking in? What about handling a dissatisfied customer’s complaint in full view of others so that they can all see how a restaurant responds when things don’t go smoothly… Posting menus … last minute deals … pics from the kitchen …not to mention utilizing Facebook ad buys to infiltrate a market and gains “likes.” Thanks for this opportunity to share … @SteveHaweeli prez of @WordHamptonPR
