Facebook rolled out a new feature that makes tagging friends easier in photos. You may not know this, but you’re automatically “enrolled” in this new feature by default. If you don’t want Facebook to “recognize” faces in the photos you post, you can turn it off. Here’s how:
Go to your privacy settings.
Click “Customize settings.”

This afternoon the “This is sick! See who viewed your Facebook profile” spam attack is in full force. Why? I don’t have the answer, but I do know what to do if, in fact, your account is one generating the spam. The folks at Facebook provide a great resource to help those affected by the [...]
It’s your client’s launch day for that big social campaign. You’ve got your hashtags in place, content ready, social media release on stand by and a fan base ready to mobilize. As you prepare to send out that first tweet, Facebook post and Flickr photo you realize that one or more of the social networks [...]
Do you know where your privacy is on Facebook? If you’re like me, you know “in general” that privacy has lessened and more of your information is available (especially if you haven’t updated your privacy settings). But there’s more to it than that. Just like a college athlete on a full scholarship, Facebook owns you [...]
I took a 48 hour break from online communication (and that includes my cell phone) during the holiday season. It was a great detox. When I opened up my Facebook account this afternoon I had invitations to more than 100 groups and pages. Of these 100+ invitations, I joined TWO.
People can promote whatever they so [...]
We (husband and I) attended the wedding of two college friends a few months ago. The two of us attended with many college friends we hadn’t “seen” in years.
However, it didn’t feel strange seeing and interacting with these people. Why? I am “friends” with them on Facebook and although we have not physically been [...]
It’s so easy to press that little “hide” button on Facebook. If you’ve hidden a fan page why are you (or did you) confirm them in the first place?
Perhaps one of these reasons:
“It seemed like a good idea at the time.”
“I felt guilty if I didn’t because it’s a friend or family member’s fan page.”
For the past hour or so, it looks like many people’s Twitter posts (or tweets) are also posting to their Facebook accounts. I don’t know the cause, but I did find a way to successfully stop it per a tweet from @KatieKrafka.
Here’s what worked for me:
Go to a Facebook status populated from Twitter and [...]

Use the note function on Facebook. Don’t know what/where it is? Let me know and I’ll walk you through. Your friends can [...]
The ULTIMATE social networking!
On a daily basis I get numerous requests related to job openings (mainly PR, marketing, communications, IT…), reporters looking for news sources, fun/innovative social media sites and such. As you can imagine, it’s a lot of information and I want to SHARE it!
I currently send out 20+ emails, tweets, etc… each day to many [...]
I’ll keep this short and sweet… It is my goal/mission/passion/hedgehog concept to socially connect good people with other good people – FAST! Seriously. I want to be the Jimmy John’s of connectedness (i.e. social networking). You know, connecting people so fast you’ll freak? I’m talking about quality connectedness, not just connecting for the sake of connecting. So, [...]
