How many balls can you carry in golf?
Most of the time, golfers have between 6 and 12 golf balls that they like to carry in their bags. This is more of a personal preference, and some golfers will look at it from a superstitious viewpoint, but right around nine is pretty standard for most professional golfers.
Q. What is the one ball rule? A. The one ball rule is an optional condition that Committees may choose to use. If this rule is in effect, you must play with the same brand, make and model of golf ball that you started the round with.
Are You Allowed To Clean Your Ball On The Fairway? If the lift, clean, and place rule is in effect, you are allowed to clean your ball on the fairway. However, if you are just playing a standard round of golf where this is not the case, then you are not allowed to clean your ball on the fairway.
If you happen to run out of balls, you can borrow one from any other player, including a practice or X-Out ball (which are generally conforming balls). If you play a wrong ball, you lose the hole in match play or get a two-stroke penalty in stroke play.
