For a country to participate in the Olympics, it must have a National Olympic Committee (NOC). That committee has to be approved by the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
North Korea is the lone country that participated in the 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang that will not be returning to compete this year. North Korea was suspended from Beijing 2022 because of its decision to not attend the Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympics.
Brazil competed at the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, China, from 4 to 20 February 2022. On January 17, 2022, Brazil's team of 10 athletes (six men and four women) competing in four sports (five disciplines) was officially named.
